CONCERT with Steffie Van Cauter Trio & De Anale Fase on the 23rd of October, 9PM

EN / Steffie Van Cauter is an artist, actress and musician. After leaving the royal academy of Ghent in 2005, she presented "Ich Bin Alleine" which mixed soundscapes, performance and animated films taken from her drawings. In the project "Die Fliege Fliegt Und Stürzt Verrückt" she combined animation and performance, set to music which was played on sound machines from recycled materials. Her melancholic and poetic drawings describe the difficulty of adapting to the world which surrounds us, where joy and loneliness are both subjected to uncontrolled voices. At les ateliers claus she will be making a video-installtion with animations, built on a wall of paper and paperboard. The movies which will be shown are currently in the works. This exhibition will take place at the käämer12 gallery, just across the street.  Additionally she will be playing a concert with two friends - using cello, guitar, vocals, percussion and a musical installation called "Strumdel" made of kitchen pots & pans.

FR / Steffie Van Cauter est à la fois dessinatrice, actrice et musicienne. Dès sa sortie de l'académie royale de gand en 2005, elle présente "Ich Bin Alleine" qui mêle paysages sonores, performance et films d'animations tirés de ses dessins. Ses Dessins, à la fois mélancoliques et poétiques, content la difficulté à s'adapter au monde qui nous entoure, où joie et solitude sont tous deux soumis à des forces incontrôlables. Elle a réalisé entiérement le programme de rentrée des ateliers claus, en préparation de la résidence qu’elle y fera du 12 au 20 Octobre. Pendant cette semaine, Steffie réalisera un papier peint à partir de dessins préparatoire, un mur entier de dessins sur lequel sera projeté pour la première fois son nouveau film d’animation, une installation vidéo qui mêle dessins et animation. Avec le « Steffie van Cauter Trio » elle sera en concert aux ateliers claus le 23 Octobre pour interpréter son répertoire en allemand, français et néerlandais, accompagnée du « Strumdel », son installation musicale de casseroles et marmites!

NL / Na haar studies 3D/Multimedia aan de Akademie van Gent creëerde Steffie Van Cauter "Ich Bin Alleine", een voorstelling met eigen animatiefilms, zelfgecomponeerde muziek en live performance. Met dit werk won ze de Adriana-prijs op het Skena-Up festival in Prishtina, Kosovo en de Theater Aan Zee prijs voor Jong Theater. Van 12 tot 25 oktober is ze te gast in les ateliers claus. Zij zal werken aan een tentoonstelling met tekeningen en projecties die vanaf 20 oktober voor het publiek toegankelijk is in käämer12, daarnaast zal ze met het Steffie van Cauter Trio een concert geven op 23 oktober in les ateliers claus. Gebruik makend van cello, gitaar, percussie en de "strumdel" - een zelfgemaakt instrument bestaande uit potten en pannen - zal ze haar eigen werk in Frans, Nederlands & Duits brengen. De vernissage van de tentoonstelling vindt plaats op 20 oktober om 19u.
