NL / A Table is het project van Jean-Jacques Duerinckx en Harold Schellinx waarbij ze muziek maken met behulp van een gedekte eettafel. Geen evident uitgangspunt, maar desalniettemin zeer de moeite. Uiteraard konden ze niet zomaar de 80e verjaardag van kunstenaar Daniel Spoerri aan hen voorbij laten gaan, een artiest die ooit de tafel waaraan hij met Marcel Duchamp dineerde helemaal vastlijmde en aan de muur omhoog hing. Voor deze gelegenheid maken ze een quasi exacte kopie van een tafel uit 1964, die ze live "bespelen", waardoor een visueel kunstwerk tot een audio-object getransformeerd wordt.
FR / A Table est le projet de Jean-Jacques Duerinckx et Harold Schellinx : les sons d’une table, couverts, aliments et convives, sont utilisés pour créer un univers sonore étrange, qui ouvre l’appétit et les oreilles. Les cinquante ans du premier tableau-table créé par le nouveau réaliste Daniel Spoerri étaient une occasion qu'ils ne pouvaient pas manquer de ccélebrer. Cette premiere table sera donc reconstituée à l'identique et amplifiée, transformant ainsi cette oeuvre visuelle en piece sonore.
EN / A table is the conceptual duo of Jean-Jacques Duerinckx and Harold Schellinx, creating sounds from all the elements of a dinner table. They could not miss the 80th anniversary of nouveau réaliste Daniel Spoerri. An artist known for gluing the remains of a dinner to a table and hanging it up to a wall. For this occasion, they recreate a table of Spoerri, originally from 1964, and amplify every element of it, turning the visual piece into a sound object.
