Johannes Sigmond (Arnhem, Netherlands - 1974) played for years in various bands and projects before he continued as a singer-songwriter in 2006. Named “BLAUDZUN” - after a relatively unknown Danish cyclist from the 70s - Johannes has surprised us with 2 incredible albums in 2008 & 2010. In January 2012 Blaudzun releases his follow up album Heavy Flowers, his most dynamic LP to date, in which his remarkable voice, haunting melodies and dramatic string arrangements converges with a love for folk and art rock. Blaudzun aesthetically compared to Arcade Fire as well as to Ryan Adams and Antony & The Johnsons. The various comparisons show that it is difficult to stick a label on this man, but rest assured, it’s one of the most beautiful things Holland has exported so far..

BENOIT PIOULARD aka Thomas Meluch began documenting field recordings and his own lo-fi compositions on dictaphones, discarded stereos and four-track machines in the mid 1990s, later focusing on limited CD-R and cassette releases of his experimental, folk-influenced songs for friends and family. In 2006 he released the wonderful Précis on KRANKY, followed by more wax on kranky and TYPE. Bittersweet melodies, melancholic textures and a warm soothing voice, sometimes it’s all you really need.
