GHEDALIA TAZARTES is an orchestra and a pop group in one person. His voice shifts constantly from child to diva, from African sorcerer to Tibetan monk. His hypnotic, disturbing polyphonies draw us into an emotional universe. It’s punk, sound poetry, Folklore and electroacoustics rolled into one. Ghédalia has been recording music in his Parisian home studio for more than 40 years. He has also worked for theater (La Comédie Française), dance and more recently for cinema.

DAVID FENECH is a French musician living in Paris. He has played and recorded with musicians such as Felix Kubin, Jad Fair, Tom Cora, Rhys Chatham, Bérangère Maximin, James Plotkin, Shugo Tokumaru, Ergo Phizmiz, and many others. His baroque style has been described as ‘a kind of punk musique concrète’. He is at the origin of the Superdisque recording project, using his own home studio as an instrument.

JAC BERROCAL is a cult trumpet player living in Paris. He has played with various musicians including Pascal Comelade, Jaki Liebezeit (Can), Nurse With Wound, Sunny Murray, Jacques Thollot, James Chance, Pierre Bastien, Aki Onda, Lol Coxhill, Catalogue, Christophe. He’s also known for his famous ‘Rock and Roll Station’, recorded with the black angel of rock, Vince Taylor.

Superdisque is the first album of the French trio formed by David Fenech (electric guitar) with Jac Berrocal (trumpet) and Ghédalia Tazartès (vocals). This album is like a musical travel in sounds, with the unique signature of these three musicians. Somewhere beyond the borders of rock, jazz, punk and sound poetry… The vocals seem to come from another planet, with lyrics in an improvised language. The winds are blown from Tibetan human bones and conch seashells. Guitars sound like rubber and steel.

THE CATAMITES prove it only takes two to shred your eardrums to pieces. Soundterrorist Stephen O’Malley is a role model of the (sludge) metal scene thanks to his work with Sunn O))) & Khanate. Chris Brokaw was the fantastic drummer of slowcore band Codeine (and guitarist of Come). Superbands are always a bad idea, but not tonight. An absolutely fresh band added last minute.. you know you don’t want to miss this!

JAC BERROCAL est un trompettiste, chanteur et performeur incontournable, à la croisée du free jazz, du punk et de la poésie sonore. Son style à fleur de peau, à la fois tendre et violent est inimitable et imprévisible. Il a joué avec des musiciens exceptionnels… la liste est longue. Parmis eux : Pascal Comelade, Jaki Liebezeit (Can), Sunny Murray, Jacques Thollot, James Chance, Nurse With Wound, Daunik Lazro, Chris Cutler, Yvette Horner, Messagero Killer Boy (le groupe du cinéaste F.J Ossang), Aki Onda, Pierre Bastien, Lol Coxhill, Jeanne Moreau

GHEDALIA TAZARTES est un chanteur, poète et auteur d’une musique concrète… en fait, on peut dire que c’est un orchestre à lui tout seul (sa voix se transforme en voix d’enfant , de femme, de viellard, de chamane).
Les trois hommes font ici corps, malaxant une matière sonore qui à la frontière du punk, du jazz, de la musique nouvelle, de l'improvisation.

Chris Brokaw est principalement connu pour ses anciennes implications avec les groupes Come et Codeine ainsi qu'avec G.G. Allin. Stephen O'Malley est un musicien, principalement un guitariste, de Seattle, Washington qui a fondé - ou participé à - de nombreux groupes de drone doom, death/doom, et de musique expérimentale. Il est actuellement dans les groupes Ginnungagap, KTL, Lotus Eaters, et Sunn O))), et a fondé
avec Greg Anderson le label Southern Lord Records.

NL / CASPAR BRÖTZMANN (°1962 - Berlin - zoon van Europa's beste saxofonist Peter) heeft met zijn trio MASSAKER in de periode 1987-'95 vijf platen/cd's uitgebracht, en even zoveel concerten gegeven in België. Wie dit heeft meegemaakt, is een onvoorwaardelijke fan. Dit is voor eigen rekening, maar het gaat hier om de enige waardige opvolger van de koning van de Fender Stratocaster; Jimi Hendrix! Brötzmann is van de generatie "Einstürzende Neubauten" en "Deutsche Amerikanische Freundschaft", maar vooral inhoudelijk vindt hij aansluiting bij de jonge generatie schilders uit die tijd: "Die Neuen Wilden" of "The Neo-Primitives" (oa. Baselitz, Penck). Het was kiezen tussen de borstel en de gitaar. Brötzmann is een abstract schilder van geluiden. Het gaat niet over  vorm, maar over  inhoud. Demonische teksten en een orkaan van gitaargeluid zuigen je mee in een irrationele ervaring. Met songtitels als "The Tribe" en "Hunter Song" zitten we midden in een sfeer van duistere rituelen en sjamanisme. DER ABEND DER SCHWARZEN FOLKLORE ist wieder da! ••• GHEDALIA TAZARTES is geworteld in een Turks-Joods-Sefardische cultuur, maar valt eveneens te situeren in de Franse Avant-garde. Volgens de traditie van de Musique concrète  is hij net zoals Pierre Schaeffer en Pierre Henry aan de slag gegaan met Revox banden, volgens de cut & paste techniek. Met een zeldzaam aantal opnames en publieke optredens, zoekt hij als  autodidact een eigen vormtaal tussen etnisch geïnspireerde zang en verbeeldingrijke elektronica; van emotionele psalmen tot sjamaanse hymnes.

FR / Avec son trio MASSAKER, CASPAR BRÖTZMANN a sorti 5 albums de la fin des années 80 au début d'années 90 et joué de nombreuses fois en Belgique. Quiconque a assisté à ces concerts est forcément devenu fan iconditionnel de cet unique successeur de Jimi Hendrix, le roi de la Stratocastor qui fait du son de sa guitare un ouragan dévastateur. Si on devait associer Brötzmann à d’autres artistes, il est tentant de la comparer aux "Die Neue Wilde" ou "Néo-Primitifs" tels Baselitz et Penck plutôt qu'à d’autres musiciens de son temps. Entre le pinceau et la guitare, il a décidé d'être un peintre de sons abstraits. Avec des morceaux comme "The tribe" et "Hunter song", il entraine le public dans l'atmosphère de rituels sombres et chamaniques   •••   GHEDALIA TAZARTES (°1947, Paris) navigue entre des racines profondément juives et une culture de l’avant-garde européenne. Disciple turbulent de Pierre Schaeffer ou Pierre Henry, il a commencé par le collage de bandes sonores, des morceaux instrumentaux abstraits, pour s’orienter vers un travail profondément vocal, inspiré de traditions ethniques. Sa voix au genre indéfinissable navigue entre envoutement et terreur. Une performance entre poésie sonore et chant hassidique trop rare par chez nous. EN / Together with his trio MASSAKER, CASPAR BRÖTZMANN released 5 albums during the late 80's & early 90's and they played about as much shows in Belgium. Anyone who experienced one of these amazing concerts became an unconditional fan. He's been regarded as the one and only worthy successor of Jimi Hendrix, the king of the Fender Stratocastor. The way he gets a devastating hurricane of noise out of his guitar is just incredible. Brötzmann is easier to associate with “Die Neue Wilde” or “The Neo-Primitives” like Baselitz and Penck rather than any other musician of his time. His choice was much more between the brush and the guitar rather than a question of style. Instead he decided to be a painter of abstract sounds. With song titles like “The Tribe” and “Hunter Song” we are thrown in atmosphere of dark rituals and shamanism   •••   Ghédalia Tazartes (°1947, Paris) is rooted in a Turkish-Sephardic Jewish culture, but could also be situated in the French Avant-garde. According to the tradition of Musique concrète, like Pierre Schaeffer and Pierre Henry, he started to work with Revox tapes, cutting and pasting bits of recorded sound to order in a musical composition. With only a handful of hard-to-get recordings and few public appearances, he is an autodidact who developed his own language between ethnic-inspired vocals and imaginative electronics; evocative psalms and shamanic hymns.
