NL / CHIHEI HATAKEYAMA is een geluidskunstenaar en muzikant die net buiten Tokyo woont. Hij schildert nostalgische soundscapes met bewerkte opnames van elektrische en akoestische instrumenten zoals gitaar, vibrafoon en piano. Dankzij zijn excellente releases op Kranky, Room 40, Under The Spire en Own records heeft hij een benijdenswaardige status verworven binnen het brede genre van ambient. Een ideale artiest om onze dromerige siësta sessions in te kleuren, en een ideaal moment om aan het drukke stadsleven te ontsnappen.

FR / Depuis les environs de Tokyo, CHIHEI HATAKEYAMA enregistre et archive des sons, qu'il réutilise de différentes façons selon les concerts, les disques, les circonstances. Pleins de souvenirs, évocateurs du passé, ses morceaux à base d'électronique, de guitare, de piano et de xylophone lui ont rapidement permis de devenir un incontournable du genre. Les "siesta sessions" ne pouvaient que le réclamer.

Hatakeyama polychromes memory-evoking soundscapes with various recorded materials of electric and acoustic instruments such as electric guitars, vibraphone and piano. With releases on Kranky, Room 40, Under the Spire and Own Records, he has established a solid and unique footing in the emotive ambient music genre. An ideal artist to color our dreamy siësta sessions. A light and breezy escape from the noisy city life.

EN / For our first Siësta Session of this season, we are proud to host two shows by belgian songwriter Annelies Monseré. One will be a solo show, in which she will present her new album "Marit". A lovely record, with more instruments as before, but still beautifully melancholic. Hushed songs about leaving home and building new ones. The record will be released by Auetic Records, a newly born label run by the man behind Library Tapes. Besides her solo project, she has also been involved in an ongoing collaboration with her friend Jessica Baillif, who released a few stunning dronefolk releases on Kranky. After their first shows in 2005 and an ep on morc records in 2008, they are now preparing for a new full length. On stage they will grace us with new and old songs, accompanied by Mat Sweet of Boduf Songs on drums.

FR / Pour la siesta session # 13, et la première de la saison, nous recevrons pour la deuxième fois la gantoise Annelies Monseré, cette fois pour deux sets différents la même après-midi. En solo, elle présentera son nouvel album « Marit », sorti sur le tout jeune label Auetic Records, fondé par « Monsieur » Library tapes. Plus arrangé, aussi émouvant, ce nouvel album parle de départs et de retours, avec toujours la voix fragile d’Annelies. Elle prolongera ensuite sur scène sa collaboration avec la folkeuse américaine Jessica Bailiff, collaboration entamée lors de nombreux concerts, et sur un EP sorti chez Morc Records. Mat Sweet, de Boduf Songs, les accompagnera à la batterie sur scène.

NL / Annelies Monseré komt helemaal op haar eentje haar nieuwe cd 'Marit' voorstellen. Verwacht desolate, donkere en fragiele muziekjes in een bitterzoete verpakking. De cd verschijnt op het nieuwe Auetic Records, gerund door de man achter het fijne Library Tapes. Naast de cd-voorstelling zal Annelies nog een tweede maal op het podium staan, maar dan in de aanwezigheid van Jessica Bailiff. Samen hebben ze sinds 2005 een project lopen waarmee ze momenteel naarstig aan een eerste full length werken. Een eerste ep verscheen vorig jaar op het Gentse Morc Records. Verwacht desolate dronepop die niet zo ver ligt van hun solo output. Live worden ze vergezeld door Mat Sweet van Boduf Songs op drums.
