KID CONGO AND THE PINK MONKEY BIRDS (us)
Kid Congo Powers is a guitarist beyond mortal categorization for playing with The Gun Club, The Cramps and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds. But then, what to say about the music? Save some fuzz tone crashes, it’s not much like The Cramps or The Gun Club, nor The Bad Seeds. This is small venue stuff, the kind of raw and raucous psychedelic garage rock for the in-crowd, that’ll immediately recognize this is a band to take into account. Kiki Solis’ bass is the foreground instrument, plucking out Motown rhythms, as the guitar splatters eerie and distant post-punkish textures. Post-punk, but there are also rowdy early 70s funk dance rhythms in there. Kid Congo and The Pink Monkey Birds leap between genres and styles, but never without bringing it together with a warm, gritty, rasping lo-fi fuzz tone.

JOHN SINCLAIR (us)
Detroit poet, one-time manager of the band MC5 and leader of the White Panther Party for a period of two years. After a series of convictions for possession of marijuana, Sinclair was sentenced to 10 years in prison in 1969 after giving two joints of marijuana to an undercover narcotics officer. These events inspired the creation of Ann Arbor’s annual pro-legalization Hash Bash rally, which continues to be held as of 2011, and contributed to the drive for decriminalization of marijuana under the Ann Arbor city charter. This evening he will perform in spoken word in between the two concerts.

SERIOUS KIDS (bxl)
"A real romantic is a crooner" - Normally the one-man-band of Igor Paskiewicz, but this time he will be adding to his tapes and machines, the wires of some compagnions:

- guitar: Teuk Henri (sharko, ih8camera)
- guitar: Raphael Absolonne (spookhuisje, tochtgat)
- drums: Pierrick Destrebecq
- bass: Yorgos Tsakiridis ( the hickey underworld)

The music makes you travel between rock, garage rock, electronic, psyche, with some dancing rhytms to make you sweat. Let’s say it’s like a beautiful afternoon ending in a dark cave on a moon captured by dragons...
