aymeric and eric explore polyrhytms in the spaces between the sequencer grid lines using improvisations. However minimal their resources, they set out to explore the rich textures, timbres and resonances of the pulsations and the frictions thereof, as they appear in the atmospheres of the rooms in which they work.

hanne de backer (solo)

hanne de backer is a belgian baritone saxophonist based in Brussels. she is an energetic and versatile performer, mainly working in the field of improvised music and has left her mark on the european improv-scene in recent years.
she works together with a wide range of artists like signe emmeluth, raf vertessen, paal nilssen-love, ken vandermark, hamid drake, terrie ex, marta warelis, jakob bro, agnes hvizdalek, jesper zeuthen, a.o.. she is also part of brussels saxophone collective la nuée and condor gruppe.

‍as a performer and composer she has been active in theater with belgian compagnies like kvs brussels, ’t arsenaal mechelen and bookers & hookers.
she is the founder and bandleader of g a b b r o , a fluid collective that wants to explore the impact of free improvisation on different locations and vice versa. g a b b r o has been performing and recording in sewing systems, on roofs and mountains, in the prison of antwerp, launderettes,...

‍with g a b b r o she released three well received albums and a first movie ‘as we walk’ (2023) for which she walked the whole belgian coastline together with cinematographer seppe van grieken, pianist andreas bral, brooklyn based drummer raf vertessen, their instruments and a camel. alongside the road, the trio played improvised sets based on their impressions and the physical challenges they endured.
In 2025, g a b b r o is going on a new adventure together with casper van de velde on drums.as a duo, hanne and casper are travelling to the town of gabbro in Italy, meeting the people there through musical improvisations and turning their experiences both in a new album and documentary.
